ABOUT

18521.jpeg

Dan Willig is a multi-disciplinary artist working and living in New England and is currently a graduate student and instructor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

His art practice aims to understand the complex conditions of trauma, attachment, and the pace of contemporary life and their impact on the psyche. Rooted in representation, the compositions of Dan's work emphasize the relationship between the individual and the environment and their interwoven nature. Working across multiple mediums, Dan constantly explores how to express the loneliness, estrangement, and melancholia of contemporary existence.

Coinciding with his art practice, Dan is also a skilled instructor, fabricator, and builder and also keeps a music and writing practice.
